Yesterday, January 12th, we lost a legend. Keith Jackson, the beloved announcer who has made his fair share of legendary calls and fantastic sayings (“Fumble!” and “Whoa Nelly”) passed away late last night.
Jackson was most well-known for being the voice of college football. But he built quite the resume for himself. Announcing basketball, baseball, the Olympics, and even pro football. His sayings were legendary and his voice was one of the most recognizable out there. Everyone knew his voice, including Brett Favre who did a spot on imitation of him in one of his famous mic’d up moments.
Keith Jackson was a world famous announcer and touched many generations with his great announcing. He will be greatly missed. R.I.P. Mr. Jackson.
