Mike Vrabel Named Head Coach of Tennessee Titans

It’s always nice to see one of your own do good. I have no kids, but I assume when you try and bring your kid up the best way possible and you teach them right, it’s so rewarding to see your kid go through life and get his dream job. That certainly is how Bill Belichick must be feeling this morning when news has broken that Mike Vrabel will be the next head coach of the Tennessee Titans.

Vrabel was a vital part of the Patriots’ Super Bowl runs in the early 2000s. He was a solid linebacker and quite a good pass catcher as well. After his retirement, he dove right into coaching and was the brightest new coach in the league. He finally got his first head coaching gig. He’s got a playoff caliber team, but the Titans still have a ways to go. Hopefully Vrabel can aid that defense well and if he can get an offensive coordinator to aid the type of offense built for Marcus Mariota.

I am also excited to see next season as the Pats are playing AFC South teams so we’ll get to see Belichick v McDaniels and Belichick v Vrabel. It will be awesome to see what another Patriot alum builds.
